G age 4: spent the morning repeating with aw "I can't believe I'm four!"
He also informed us with concern "I'm not sure I made a wish!"
We explained about the candles and so he has set himself to the task of thinking up a wish today. Extremely studious that one!
Now folks it is my turn I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S FOUR!!!
I have spent the last 24 hours recalling the events leading up to his birth from the Midwives betting on how much over 10 pounds they thought he would be (ha, ha funny ladies!) to the long walk and jog in attempts to induce labor, to calling in the troops when my water broke at 10pm (thanks to Jenn, Tamara, Mum and Dad) The feelings of excitement, the hard work of acceptance and patience through the night and finally the feeling of reaching my hands down to lift my new little boy from my womb into my arms. I recall the look on my husbands face as he looks down upon us, his baby boy and wife curled in together, relief and love showed in his face. Then the calm set in and time slowed as G and I looked into one another s eyes and it seemed we just knew each other...and my eyes welled with tears of relief, my toes curled with contractions of afterbirth and my heart swelled with love and pure bliss. Then once again the room began to move in real time.
