From the other room I hear a fight break out...

I walk in and see G move away from AJ who is saying "owwww"
I ask G "what did you do to your brother?"
He says "pinched him"
And the quickly adds "BUT NOT IN THE EYES!"

Oh...right...all good then!

Griffin getting dressed for baseball.
"mom can you help me tuck my shirt in so people can see I'm wearing a jock"
Ah yes the highlights of 4/5 year old baseball the jock & the snack.

Things I can't believe I've said out loud

I just said:
"do not give yourself atomic wedgies!"
&
"other people underwear is off limits!"

Playdates are always interesting!

Deep thoughts.

On the eve of AJ's eighth birthday while being tucked in (as much as he will allow me to tuck him in) he turns to me and says "did you ever think...I will never be seven again? It is hard to never be seven again!"

All I could think was..."no, but I have thought YOU will never be seven again" how are these years passing SO quickly???

Coyote Mommy

Remember that film Coyote Ugly, where girls danced on bars...

The bar owner explains why she named her bar as she did, it went something like this...

Girl: Can I ask you somethin'?
Lil: What?
Girl: What - Oh, what does Coyote Ugly mean?
Lil: Did you ever wake up sober after a one night stand, and the person you're next to is layin' on your arm, and they're so ugly, you'd rather chew off your arm then risk waking 'em? That's coyote ugly.

Well I had a Coyote Mommy moment on our flight home the other night where I swear to you I would have rather chewed my arm clear off than wake my ridiculously ornery (and finally sleeping) child!

Ah the fine moments of parenting!
